SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change, published on the occasion of the sixth Chicago Architecture Biennial (CAB 2025) under the artistic direction of Florencia Rodriguez, examines architecture in a world shaped by crisis. As architects experiment, relearn, and reinvent their discipline, the book proposes a redefinition of its foundations and invites collective thinking on new ways of shaping the built environment.

Through conversations, visual essays, and manifestos, it unfolds the many dimensions of SHIFT. Participants’ voices appear in a five-hour discussion marathon transcript addressing realism, the everyday, urban pleasures, and shifts in architectural language, alongside manifestos exploring alternative futures.
